At the end of another year, it is with so much gratitude that we are looking back! We understand that if it had not been for you and the Grace of our Lord,      

we would not have been able to make a difference in the community of Nellmapius - South Africa.

....as children came filing into the centre, some showing report cards and others just telling us - "I passed".... My thoughts went back to a few moments

through the year and I wondered how much these moments had to do with these pushing and laughing kids,  just showing us their "efforts"....

Earlier this year we had 2 groups from Colorado visiting us:                                                                               

 They loved our children -                                                                                               

 They visited the sick -                                                                                                                         And ministered to our staff -

We have been able to get our training more streamline, but it was so often in the training situation that we were reminded of why we started in the first place....

Our quest to find a person or group to assist us in caring for our children spiritually and emotionally  - Finally 2 weeks before the end of our year, I was

contacted by someone from the University of Pretoria. We had discussions and I am so thankfull to say that this challenge will be actively handled as from

February 2009.

Our "Dollar a Day Adoption Programme" with the students from various Universities in Colorado - The commitment, love and care with which staffmembers of  

Campus Crusade for Christ have pursued this matter, have blown our minds at the Centre! Due to this, many students who have not known about the existence

of a Place such as Nellmapius in South Africa, are now contributing to the daily care of our children....

 We have received a Christmas Card for each child!  This was a miracle, as we went to the Post Office the day before but there was NO sign of the parcel with 

cards! The next afternoon while we were busy with the children, Louis decided to go back to the Post Office and was able to get the package and get back 

to us before the children left....

The student summer camp contribution also brought a present for EACH child! On Thursday, 11 December we had our yearly Fun Day for the children -

Amongst the staff we call this our "National Match a child to a Gift Day" Our main problem being the fact that the moment the jumping castles arrive,  

children come from everywhere!

This year, with our Fun Day we also reached out to a Place of Safety housing 12 children of all ages nearby.

In our Life Skills Course, many students have made a commitment to Jesus and asked Him to become Lord of their lives.

We have seen the difference in their lives and that has given us courage to stay in the race....

Phillipians 3: 13 "But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.14. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for

which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

To the reader: We would like to pray for you that the Lord will bless you and keep you, The Lord will make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you,

The Lord will turn His face towards you and give you peace! Numbers 6:24-26
